Meet Libby V

Fifteen years across every sector that touches community change.

Government. Higher education. Corporate philanthropy. Nonprofits. Libby V & Associates brings cross-sector fluency to the work of building stronger organizations and more effective systems.

Libby Villavicencio

Founder & Principal Consultant

Libby's career has spanned the full ecosystem of community change. She's managed programs in government agencies, led initiatives in higher education, directed operations for corporate philanthropy, and built capacity inside dozens of nonprofit organizations. That range isn't a resume line — it's the reason her approach works.

When Columbus City Council needed someone to build a grant training program for 22 grassroots startup nonprofits, they called Libby. That project became the foundation for Sustainability by Design, her signature cohort program that takes nonprofit leaders from surviving to sustaining. The first cohort produced over $2 million in grants secured, with another $10 million in pending asks.

That project is a blueprint for how Libby works: design a scalable framework, train the people inside it, measure the outcomes, and build something that outlasts the engagement. Whether she's facilitating a peer cohort for a government agency, advising a foundation on community investment strategy, or coaching a single nonprofit through strategic planning, the approach is the same.

She also runs fundraising workshops for the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County and its 200+ nonprofit members, conducts strategic planning engagements for organizations at every stage, and partners with Frederica Deena of Deena Strategies on storytelling, grants, and youth development initiatives.

Her core conviction: the people closest to the problem are closest to the solution. Too often, institutions design programs for communities instead of with them. Libby bridges that gap — she has the institutional credibility to win the contract and the grassroots experience to make the work matter on the ground.

Outside of work, Libby walks her rescue dogs, dives into books, hunts for Columbus's best new restaurants, and brings the same warmth to everything she does.

Our Approach

How we work

Every engagement is built on four principles - whether it's a single coaching relationship or a 22-organization cohort program.

Design scalable frameworks

We build systems and curricula that work for one organization or fifty. Our cohort models are designed to be repeated, measured, and improved over time.

Measure what matters

Every engagement starts with defined outcomes. We track progress, report results, and adjust when the data tells us to. No vanity metrics.

Build capacity, not dependency

Our job is to make ourselves unnecessary. We train teams, create repeatable processes, and hand over the keys when the work is ready to run without us.

Center community expertise

The people closest to the problem are closest to the solution. We don't arrive with answers - we build programs that amplify the knowledge already on the ground.

Our Core Values

What Drives Us

Nurture relationships

Clear, open communication. Play the long game. Never leave people wondering.

Be curious

Ask questions to understand, not to judge. Get to the root of the matter.

Try new things

Innovation is applauded here. Fail fast, learn, and fail forward to success.

Pursue excellence

Go the extra mile. Don't be complacent. Have a passion for quality work.

Own it

Celebrate your wins. Own your mistakes. Take responsibility and move forward.
